On July 12, Rice County Area United Way hosted their first-ever Pickle Paddle, dedicated to raising funds for local nonprofit agencies focused on the impact area of
health, and raised over $8000. All proceeds will stay in Rice County.
The Pickle Paddle hosted 10 mixed doubles teams at Riverside Park Pickleball Courts. Funds raised will support health-focused United Way partner agencies, including HealthFinders, Three Rivers Community Action, Healthy Community Initiative, and Aging Services for Communities.

These agencies support Rice County’s most vulnerable neighbors by providing direct mental and physical healthcare, prevention education, in-home care for older adults, and transportation to medical appointments. Rice County United Way Executive Director Laura Riehle-Merril stated that these organizations were in great need of support.
