Crime is continuing its downward trend in Northfield, according to a report from Police Chief Jeff Schroepfer at Monday’s City Council meeting. The report focused on Quarter 2 of the year, which showed a drop in calls for service by nearly 800. One notable event was the robbery of Kwik Trip early in the morning on June 11th:
“A low amount of cash was actually stolen on that. We quickly identified the suspect thanks to a combination of good police work, but also a good job of being heard on behalf of the staff at Kwik Trip and helping to identify that person. So when we arrested them, they were on their way to Florida to leave the state.” – Jeff Schroepfer , Northfield Police Chief at the 8/4/2025 City Council Meeting

Among other notable items in Quarter 2 for the department include the already successful Facebook page, which Schroepfer noted has reached thousands of people in its first few weeks, helping to provide important information and PSAs:
“I posted about scams on our Facebook page, which had 53,514 views. So that one went across really big.” – Jeff Schroepfer, Northfield Police Chief at the 8/4/2025 City Council Meeting
