At the beginning of July, the Northfield High School welcomed in its new leader, Chris Dibble, to serve as Principal of the building. With the start of the school year only 26 days away, Dibble has begun to meet more community members, including stopping by KYMN for July’s edition of Doing Good Things For Kids.
Dibble shared what brought him into education and eventually to Northfield:
“I’ve just always loved, you know, growing up in a small town in Wisconsin, school was where it was at. And that’s where I met my people and just realized that I want to make people as comfortable as I was in high school.” – Chris Dibble, New Principal of the Northfield High School, on KYMN’s Doing Good Things For Kids
Dibble comes to Northfield with 25 years of experience in education, including a decade of service in high school administration. He most recently worked as the Principal of Albert Lea High School.
Dibble shared that his vision focused on building strong relationships and connections between students and teachers:
It’s not a class of 350 that we’re pushing across the stage at the end of the year. It is, it is 350 individuals who all have an opportunity to do something with their lives. And so you know, the data tells us that if a kid can find one. One meaningful adult relationship. They have such a better chance. So I think with that vision.” – Chris Dibble, New Principal of the Northfield High School, on KYMN’s Doing Good Things For Kids
