The Dundas City Council meets tonight for a regular meeting. The meeting will start with approving a 3-year agreement for accounting services from Abdo Financial. According to a memo from the city, staff had taken on some of the accounting responsibilities and were exploring taking on more. However, City Administrator Jenelle Teppen stated that they have been “very hard pressed to find an individual who possesses the skill and expertise to perform the various finance as well as Abdo Financial Services” and it was likely too much for staff to take on. The deal would be a $120,000 a year. The City of Dundas has contracted with Abdo for accounting and budget services since 2019.
Next on the agenda will be a review of the city’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which lays out the projects that the city is working on between 2026 and 2031. Items on the CIP include replacement of Police Squad cars, sidewalk repairs, replacing several of the city’s vehicles, sewer replacements along Schilling Drive, street improvements on 115th St., and work on city parks.
The meeting will conclude with a work session focused on the city’s budget.
The Dundas City Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 7pm in the Council Chambers of the Dundas City Hall.
