The Northfield History Center recently held the grand opening for its new exhibit celebrating one of the most beloved events in Northfield: Rock and Roll Revival. The opening reception of the exhibit was a popular event, with just over a hundred people attending.
The annual performance is held every other year, and Executive Director of the History Center Sean Allen shared how many students are part of the production:
“There are 150 kids involved in this thing. Kids that are on the football team to the, you know, theater people. It’s like everybody gets involved.” – Sean Allen, Executive Director of the Northfield History Center, on KYMN In The Morning
Listen to the News:
Allen said that with the 30th Anniversary, the History Center wanted to have an exhibit, and it was made possible by the contributions of many individuals:
“Ray Coudret had dropped off a whole bunch of objects related to that for our archives. And we thought this was a nice opportunity. They’ve been really helpful at the high school with us. We had some Saint Olaf interns that worked during J term to kind of do a bunch of the oral histories and some of that work.” – Sean Allen, Executive Director of the Northfield History Center, on KYMN In The Morning

The Northfield History Center is open Tuesdays – Saturdays 10am to 4pm and Sundays 1pm to 4pm. Admission is $10 for adults and free for History Center members, students, children (12 and under), Native Americans, and Veterans.
Also on display is the Doug “Puppet” Peterson Exhibit and the permanent exhibit for the Defeat of Jesse James Bank Raid, which is in the bank that the gang attempted to raid. Learn more at: https://www.northfieldhistory.org/exhibits
