Armstrong Road (CSAH 78) and the Mill Towns State Trail will be closed from the Northfield Compost Site entrance to the Sechler Park entrance starting August 18 through October 1 for a Rice County Highway Department Project to replace a box culvert bridge.
Detour signs will be posted directing traffic to Highway 19, Highway 3, and County Road 1 detouring traffic around the closure area. Access to the Northfield Compost Site will remain open from only the south on Armstrong Road.
In a statement, the City of Northfield and Rice County urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
