The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting an Open House on Wednesday afternoon about the planned road reconstruction of Highway 19 in 2028. The project will consist of reconstructing Highway 19 from Decker Avenue to the Union Pacific Railroad tracks just west of Highway 3 in Northfield. The road will change from two lanes to include a continuous left turn in addition to the two lanes. A roundabout is proposed to be constructed at Armstrong Road. A trail will be constructed on the north side of Highway 19, along with additional improvements for pedestrians and bicycles along the highway.
No formal presentation is planned for the event. Instead, it’s an opportunity for people to learn more and ask questions. MnDOT also has a survey about the project open until September. You can complete the survey here.
