Last Third Thursday Event of the Summer Tonight; Louis & Day and Tractorhead Set to Perform

By Logan Wells, News Director | Logan@kymnradio.net

Another sign that summer is coming to an end, tonight is the last Third Thursday celebration of the year. Following two popular musical acts in June and July, August promises to be just as exciting, with Louis & Dan and the Invisible Band opening the evening at 5pm. The two describe themselves as “whimsical perspectives carry a dash of nostalgia, resulting in music that speaks to curious kids and discerning grown-ups alike.”

Among the other activities around this evening will be several activities for kids from different sports organizations and a unique set of games from Content Bookstore. Here’s Josh Zimmerman, President of the Friends of Downtown Northfield, the organizers of the event:

They’re going to do a make-do play day. So make-do is a kind of toy, but it. That you can cut cardboard without cutting your hands, like they’re sharp tools that you can do, and so she reminded me that they have a lot of cardboard, they have a lot of tools and they have to make do to provide some toys. So we’re going to kind of set up a cardboard little workshop outside of kids content during the evening.” – Josh Zimmerman, President of the Friends of Downtown Northfield, on KYMN In The Morning

The Fermentation Friends will also be downtown this month, serving drinks from Tanzenwald Brewery. Other vendors will also be set up in the area.

Zimmerman stated that it has been a successful year so far with several hundred people attending both June and July’s events. He said the Friends of Downtown are now looking at making some shifts to improve next year, but that they will be excited to bring Third Thursday back again.

Third Thursday runs time along Bridge Square and Division Street from 5pm to 8pm and is free for all to attend.
