Teacher of the Year, Deb Seitz
Educational Assistant of the Year, Teri Quamme

With the start of the school year also means the recognition of several teachers and staff for their years of service and dedication.

Longtime Middle School Special Education Teacher Deb Seitz was recognized as the Teacher of the Year. Hillmann praised the work and dedication of Seitz:

“Deb has really just made a great connection with students who sometimes have struggled in the school environment. And so it really helps people become independent, helps them understand the things that they need to do to be successful, and provides that specialized instruction.” – Dr. Matt Hillmann, Superintendent of Schools, on KYMN In The Morning

Seitz has been a teacher for 40 years, 23 of those with the Northfield Schools.

Receiving the educational assistant of the year award is Teri Quamme, who had worked for many years with each of the different grades:

“Really honored for her support of students, daily encouragement and guidance, patience, and making sure that every student that she is charged with working with is successful.”– Dr. Matt Hillmann, Superintendent of Schools, on KYMN In The Morning

One award is meant for the staff who work outside of the classroom, the Outstanding Service Award, which goes to Jen Henriksen, the Middle School Administrative Assistant.
