You have probably already noticed the influx of college students to Northfield this week, with just over 3,000 St. Olaf students arriving. That includes the nearly 800 students from the Class of 2029 who arrived last Saturday to begin new student orientation. They were followed by the remainder of the school moving in the past few days. Classes at St. Olaf get underway for students today.
Mike Berthelson is the Chief Financial Officer of St. Olaf College:
“The two best days of the year of colleges are move-in day and graduation. So we’re excited for both.” – Mike Berthelson, Chief Financial Officer of St. Olaf College, KYMN News Interview

Carleton is a few weeks behind, Olaf, with new students arriving next week, and classes getting underway there on September 15th.
Eric Runstad, the Vice President and Treasurer of Carleton, shared how they were ready and excited for students to be back:
“It’s a pretty complicated time in higher education, but we’re all committed to making sure that these students have a great experience. And that starts with building that energy and getting them here safely, getting them oriented, helping them understand the college and the community.” – Eric Runstad, Vice President and Treasurer of Carleton College
Carleton is expected to welcome just over 2,000 students to campus this fall.
