The Riverwalk Market Fair is hosting its last fair at Greenvale this evening, and it’s meant to also be an exciting celebration of the new program the group started this year. Fair Manager Derek Meyers says that the location and time of the Tuesday fair was about trying to connect more of the community:
“We wanted to be in a different area of town, specifically that area of town, just because there’s a lot of homes, a lot of families over there. There’s a school over there, kids getting dropped off and picked up it’s a good time for folks to grab vegetables and things that they need for supper.”- Derek Meyers, Riverwalk Market Fair Manager, on KYMN In The Morning
He noted that through grant funding and fundraising, Riverwalk Market buys some of the remaining produce of its vendors and donates it to the food shelf located inside the Community Education Center.

The Tuesday evening fairs are similar to the Saturday fairs, with about 15 to 20 vendors, mostly food vendors, art vendors, and live music. And as a special treat for the last Greenvale fair, the first 100 people will receive a free scoop of Ice Cream from Udder Buddies, paid for by Riverwalk and Northfield Shares.
RMF at Greenvale takes place this evening from 3pm to 6:30pm on the lawn next to the Community Education Center. The Saturday Riverwalk Fair takes place from mid-October to mid-October from 9am to 1pm at Bridge Square.
