The Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library is holding its annual meeting on Sunday at 2pm, which is part fundraiser and celebration of the work the organization does. President of the organization, Bill North, says that the foundation works to provide additional programming and resources for the library:
“And really we’re there to provide that little extra that allows our library to do more for us and to experiment with neat ideas. And that is continually what we hope to do. We also want to share their programming and really try and connect members of the community with library services.” – Bill North, President of the Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library on KYMN In The Morning
Among the programs that North cited are the Bookmobile and helping with fundraising for the library expansion and renovation.
The event begins with a brief meeting and a report on the Friends and Foundation’s work over the past year, followed by a keynote talk given by Patrick Mader. The speech will focus on two of Mader’s books about Minnesota Women in Sports and the History of Minnesota Olympians.

The foundation will also be holding a raffle drawing for an antique wood cabinet. The drawing is $5, with the funds going to support the library. Purchase of a raffle ticket can be done until Sunday in the Atrium of the Library.
“Just we’re so appreciative, and as we go forward, keep the library in your thoughts, and it’s there for you, and they would love to see you.” – Bill North, President of the Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library on KYMN In The Morning
