Ames Street at Winona Street closure
Ames Street and its sidewalk at Winona Street will be closed starting on Wednesday, October 1 for approximately 3 weeks for crews to work on the water utility lines.
This closure is near Spring Creek Elementary School and may affect some students’ regular routes to school. Detour signs will be posted directing vehicle traffic to Woodley Street, Division Street, and Jefferson Parkway.
This improvement is part of the Jefferson Parkway Extension, Sandstone Street Construction and Utility Improvements Project. The project includes extending Jefferson Parkway, constructing a new road called Sandstone Street, and constructing water mains from city wells to the site of the future water treatment plant. Construction of a water treatment plant is indefinitely on hold.

Fourth Street parking area and sidewalk closure
The parking area and sidewalk on the Fourth Street side of 329 Division Street will be closed for repairs to the wall foundation at the address on Friday, October 3 through Friday, October 17.
Detour signs will be posted detouring pedestrians around the closure area.

With all road projects, the City of Northfield urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
