Paisley Gardens in Northfield is hosting a fundraiser on Sunday afternoon: Bloom with Purpose. The goal is to raise funds for Metastatic Breast Cancer, which is an incurable form of cancer. The funds raised are going to METAvivor, a nonprofit organization providing Support, Research, & Advocacy. Rachel Kinny, the owner of Paisley Gardens, said that she had been motivated by a family friend’s struggle with cancer.
“So I just feel like so many of us have been touched by breast cancer, and metastatic breast cancer is something that people aren’t always aware of because the patients are just kind of, they’re living with the disease and just walking around kind of like normal, you know, even though they’re battling something that is uncurable.” – Rachel Kinny, the Owner of Paisley Gardens, on KYMN In The Morning
Listen to the News:
The fundraiser goes from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, at Paisley Gardens. There will be raffle prizes, sweet treats, and refreshments. Additionally, throughout the whole month of October, 10% of the funds from all Blooming Bulbs Sales will be donated to METAavior.
Kinny shared why Bulbs were the plants that she chose for the fundraiser:
“So planting bulbs in the fall means that you will have spring flowers, right? … But you get those in the ground now and then, you don’t have to do anything. And then before you know it, they’re blooming in the spring, which is what I need in the spring.” – Rachel Kinny, the Owner of Paisley Gardens, on KYMN In The Morning
