The ribbon cutting was held last Wednesday for a new clothing store in Downtown Northfield: The Boho Peacock. Owner Ronica Roberson said that the business takes inspiration from Ragstock with a mix of new and used clothing as well as blending her unique tastes in clothing:

“There’s no store that has the mix of new and used cool stuff that kind of appeals to the college students. And so I thought, you know, there’s an opening there, and there’s nothing like my weird style in this town, so maybe I’ll open a store and find out if other people also want to be weirdos.” – Ronica Roberson, Owner of The Boho Peacock at the Ribbon Cutting Event.

The store offers a wide range of colorful and fun clothing and accessory options for both men and women. Roberson’s clothing style is inspired by the Bohemian Era and sourcing items from both local vendors in Northfield and the Twin Cities, as well as from people across the U.S. Roberson said that she had always imagined starting her own business:

Listen to the News:

“So I have always wanted to own a store. I always wanted to actually start a business with my sister because my sister has the skills to make things with her hands, which I don’t have.” –  Ronica Roberson, Owner of The Boho Peacock at the Ribbon Cutting Event.

President of the Chamber of Commerce, Jane Bartho, expressed her excitement at the ribbon-cutting for the new store:

“Unique, vibrant, and just the essence of what people come to Northfield to shop for. This is just, I’m just so happy for you.” – Jane Bartho, Northfield Chamber of Commerce President at the Ribbon Cutting Event.

The store is open Wednesday to Friday: 12pm to 6pm, Saturday: 10am to 6pm and Sunday: 12pm to 5pm
