The Dundas City Council meets tonight for a regular meeting. The main item on the agenda is approving an ordinance regulating the cannabis retail businesses. It defines key terms, mandates city registration for state-licensed businesses, and requires compliance checks and zoning verification. Businesses must be located away from schools and youth attractions.
Next on the agenda will include approving a fence permit application. This will be followed by reports. The only update in the City Engineer Report is regarding the Country Road 1 and Highway 3 pedestrian crossing and sidewalks. The report states that the sidewalks and trails are set to be paved this week, with the project completed by Friday.
The meeting will then move into a work session to consider the city’s four enterprise funds budgets for next year. The four funds are storm sewer, water, sewer, and refuse (garbage). Funds are collected via utility bill payments and can only be spent on related projects. The report states that several projects are expected in the coming years, indicating that rates are set to rise. Will pass along more information as we have it.
