Northfield Chamber Launches Holiday Passport To Encourage Local Shopping This Season

By Logan Wells, News Director | Logan@kymnradio.net

The Northfield Chamber of Commerce launched its annual Holiday Passports to help encourage people to shop local this holiday season. From now until December 12th (just after Winter Walk), every $485 spent at Chamber member businesses can be submitted for a chance to win prizes. Director of Engagement with the Chamber, Rachel Trnka said that while that number may seem difficult to reach, she noted the number of businesses that qualify this season, and that its not simply limited to gift giving:

“And we’re talking, you know, your good old local shops and restaurants as well, boutiques, but also the gas stations, you know, food co-op, family fare, those are your grocery stores, that sort of thing as well. So all of that counts.” – Rachel Trnka , Director of Engagement for the Northfield Chamber of Commerce, KYMN News Interview

Those interested attach their receipts to a passport and turn them in at the Chamber’s offices downtown. Multiple passports can be submitted for a person, and Trnka said that some people submit several passports each year.

“So the passport and then receipts So a copy of the receipt. We need to have that amount on there and the date, the date of it, because it runs from November 8th through December 12th.” – Rachel Trnka, Director of Engagement for the Northfield Chamber of Commerce, KYMN News Interview

The drawing for prizes will then be held on December 15th, with several fun Prizes including Chamber Bucks, Mall of America passes to Nickelodeon Universe, Mouse Mountain, and Crayola Experience, Movie Tickets to Cannon Valley Cinema, Culver’s Custard for a Year and more.

To find a copy of the passport, you can pick one up from the Chamber’s offices just off Bridge Square. You can also download and print your own from the Chambers website. Find a list of qualifying Chambers members for the contest at https://business.northfieldchamber.com/list
