The Northfield City Council meets tonight for a special meeting. Given the meeting format, it is 1 hour earlier at 5pm and will include only one item: a public hearing on the revocation of the Liquor Licences at Froggz. Earlier in November, the City Council suspended the licence after Froggz failed to pay its liability insurance.
Further investigations by the City Clerk, Police Department, Fire Chief, and Building Code Officials have concluded several issues including:
- 38 Police calls since March 2025, to the bar, a higher-than-normal call amount for a location.
- Several building and fire code violations, including using the building as a residence.
- Severing alcohol to a minor.
- Failure to pay sales tax.

The City Council can choose to take no action, impose a civil fine of $2,000, suspend the licence for up to 60 days, or revoke the licence entirely. City Staff are recommending the immediate revocation of the licence.
During the public hearing, staff will present the findings of their investigation, followed by the option for the owners of Froggz to give their own presentation. The City Council will then be able to ask questions, and finally, any member of the public will be able to comment on the item.
The Public Hearing is the only item on the agenda.
Tonight’s meeting takes place at 5pm in the City Council Chamber of the Northfield City Hall.
