The City of Northfield has declared a snow emergency effective 10 p.m. November 25 until 10 p.m. November 27.
The City is declaring a Snow Emergency because forecasted snowfall and high winds are expected to create slippery roads and reduced visibility overnight. This declaration ensures streets remain clear for plowing operations and helps maintain safe travel conditions for the community.
During a snow emergency there is no parking on any city street until the weather system has passed the street is plowed curb-to-curb, which requires equipment to plow the street multiple times. Vehicles parked on the street will be ticketed with the potential of being towed during a snow emergency.
Trash and recycling bins are not allowed on city streets.
When parking lots are scheduled for snow removal, there is no parking in the lots from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All downtown parking lot permit holders must park in the city lots during a snow emergency.
- Residential streets will be plowed on November 26
- Downtown snow removal will be on November 27
- Snow removal in all downtown parking lots will be on November 28
