At the beginning of November, Northfield Police Chief Jeff Schroepfer gave the Quarter Three police report. We had a story then covering the specific details of the overall report, but today, we want to focus on a more unique part of the report, the Defeat of Jesse James Days. The police chief described Quarter 3’s data as unique because of the large celebration. Overall, the average number of calls per day was 93 during DJJD:
“As far as Defeat of Jesse James Days we had an average of 93 calls per day which is more than double a normal day for us so definitely our call load is up during DJJD which would be expected to have increased call load.” – Jeff Schroepfer, Northfield Police Chief at the 11/4/2025 City Council Meeting
Listen to the News:

What was unique was that during the celebration, several high-profile incidents occurred; however, none directly involved the celebration. This included six assaults on Police Officers, two physical interactions between people and members of Old Paths Baptist Church, and the armed suspect on Thursday of the celebration.
“Luckily in all the cases that we had the officers didn’t need any medical treatment and had no long-term injuries with it” – Jeff Schroepfer, Northfield Police Chief at the 11/4/2025 City Council Meeting
Schroepfer said that the department relies on its reservists and mutual aid from other departments to help staff the celebration, and that it’s an “all hands on deck” with everyone working overtime that weekend.
