Liquor Licence for Froggz Revoked After Insurance and Building Code Issues

By Logan Wells, News Director | Logan@kymnradio.net

On November 25th, the Northfield City Council voted to revoke the liquor license for Froggz LLC, the bar and restaurant located at 307 Water Street. The revocation follows the Council’s suspension of the licence earlier in November for failing to pay liability insurance.

Separate investigations by the City Clerk, Police Department, Fire Chief, and Building Official between March and November concluded several issues with the establishment, including:

Listen to the News:

  • 38 Police calls since March 2025, to the bar, a higher-than-normal call amount for a location.
  • Several building and fire code violations, including using the building as a residence.
  • Severing alcohol to a minor.
  • Failure to pay sales tax.

The owner of Froggz, Nicolas Erickson, spoke at the meeting and countered the points raised in the investigation. However, he concluded his remarks by stating that it had become too difficult to do business in Northfield and that he was closing the bar.
