Several Blood Drives in Northfield Coming Up as Year Ends

As the year comes to a close, the Red Cross is hosting several blood drives this week and next. The end-of-the-year push for blood donations is important to the organization, which is the largest provider of blood products in the U.S. Charlene Hamblin is a volunteer with the local Red Cross:

List of Upcoming Blood Drives: 

  • Friday, 12/19 – at Northfield YMCA from 8am – 2pm
  • Friday, 12/19 – at Northfield Public Library from 10am – 4pm
  • Monday, 12/22 – at The Grand from 9am – 3pm
  • Friday, 12/26 – at Cannon Strength from 9am – 3pm
  • Monday, 12/29 – at Arcadia Charter School from 10am – 4pm 
  • Tuesday, 12/30 – at Merchants Bank (south) from 9am – 3pm

A regular blood donation takes about 1 hour to complete; find more information about donating blood for the first time here. Hear more from Hamblin on Friday at 8:40am regarding blood donation. 

The Red Cross needs 13,000 blood donations daily and serves 26-hundred hospitals across the country.
