The City of Northfield is seeking applicants for the 2026 board and commission appointments. Board and commission members participate in advisory and governance activities in a wide variety of fields. Northfield Mayor Erica Zweifel stated that she appreciated input from a wide range of people:

Boards and commissions with vacancies in 2026 include the Economic Development Authority, Environmental Quality Commission, Heritage Preservation Commission, Hospital Board, Human Rights Commission, Library Board, and Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. More information on these specific boards and commissions can be found on the city’s website at northfieldmn.gov/BC.

The board and commission appointment timeline has recently been adjusted so terms will now start on May 1, 2026. Most board and commission terms run for three years.
The deadline to apply is January 31, 2026. Interested applicants can apply on the city’s website: northfieldmn.gov/bcapplication. Paper applications may be obtained at the Administration Office, City Hall, 801 Washington Street, Northfield, MN 55057.
