Emergency responders and railroad crews responded to a train car derailment near the Armstrong Road entrance to Sechler Park earlier today.
Officials said the train car remained upright, but one set of wheels came off the tracks. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Authorities reported that the train car was not carrying hazardous materials and that there is no danger to the public. No injuries were reported among train crew members or anyone in the area.
Railroad crews remained on site Monday working to safely return the rail car to the tracks. The recovery effort is expected to continue for several hours.
The Armstrong Road entrance to Sechler Park has reopened, though access may be temporarily affected as crews continue their work nearby.
City officials are asking motorists and park visitors to use caution when traveling through the area and to give emergency responders and railroad workers space to complete the recovery operation safely.
