Raider Wrap, KYMN Radio’s weekly show dedicated to Northfield High School athletics and activities, will kick off its 2026-27 season with a special live broadcast Saturday morning at The Grand Event Center.
The show, hosted by longtime sports broadcaster Jimmy LeRue, will air live beginning at 10 a.m. and marks the first time Raider Wrap has been presented before a live audience. The event is open to the public and will serve as a fundraiser for Northfield High School’s cross-country and track programs, while also promoting the Defeat of Jesse James Days 5K and 15K races.
The program will feature a lineup of guests closely connected to Northfield activities and athletics. Activities Director John Mahal will discuss the upcoming school year, while activities administrator Sheryl Docken, a longtime behind-the-scenes presence in the district, will make a rare radio appearance. Northfield head football coach Brent Yule is expected to provide a preseason update as the Raiders prepare to begin competition next week.
Cross-country and track coach Janet Smith will highlight both the upcoming running season and the Defeat of Jesse James Days races. A portion of breakfast sales during the event will benefit the school’s cross-country and track teams, helping offset expenses associated with equipment, travel, training, and other program needs.
LeRue said the show also will introduce listeners to Raider Wrap’s new student contributor, Brandon Atzinger. The Northfield student is expected to assist with event calendars, athlete features, and other segments throughout the year.
Listeners unable to attend can still participate by submitting questions for guests via email to booth@kymnradio.net.
The live broadcast is expected to continue until at least 11 a.m., with activities continuing through the noon hour at The Grand Event Center.
