KSTP-TV’s Twin Cities Live is headed to Northfield for a live broadcast at Reunion tomorrow afternoon – and the public is invited to join in the experience.
The downtown Northfield broadcast of the Minneapolis-based news and entertainment show is part of the show’s “In Your Town” series, where the hosts take a tour to cities around Minnesota. Co-host Elizabeth Ries said the long-running series allows her show’s team to get out of the Twin Cities and explore the state’s diverse communities and meet fans.
Ries said she’s a longtime fan of Northfield. She said she has attended theDefeat of Jesse James Days for many years, and loves exploring the Get Bentz Farm for their Icelandic sheep and their fiber mill, as well as Little Hill Berry Farm for blueberry picking with her Family.
Ries said her focus will be on Northfield farmers’ passion for agriculture and the influence of local colleges in a small town with a lot of history.
She said her hope is that Northfield locals who attend the broadcast will share the things that make the city so special and give it its unique identity and character. She said the in-person audience can expect all the fun–and occasional chaos–that can come from recording live.
She’ll be joined by her co-host, former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Ben Leber.
The broadcast at Reunion will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, and is free to attend. Tickets are not required.
Other planned filming spots in Northfield include Hogan Brothers, A Great Day Farm, the Ole Store Restaurant, Loon Liquors, Forget-Me-Not Florist, and Get Bentz Farm.
