All-Wheel Drive with musician Joe Carey

Always a treat to wrap-up another great week of music with an in-studio appearance by a revered Minnesota musician. And this time, we welcomed Joe Carey to the KYMN studios, celebrating the release of his third solo venture, “Comeback,” recorded and co-produced by veteran musician Rich Mattson at the legendary Sparta Sound studio near Eveleth.

I love the clever duplicity of the album title (Comeback/Come Back) and Joe’s signature vocals and sweet guitar licks are the perfect accompaniment to his original narratives. Joined by fantastic fellow musicians Rich Mattson, Jessica Carey, Brent Saari, Keely Lane, Craig LaSart, Jillian Rae, Shane Akers–even members of Sonny Knight & The Lakers’ horn section!– it’s a great recording from start to finish. So nice to chat with Joe and listen to him perform acoustic versions of tracks from the new album.
