AWD with special guest Matt Arthur 1/17/18

It’s been far too long since I featured an in-studio guest but certainly worth the wait for this guy — such a treat to finally feature the legendary Matt Arthur on All-Wheel Drive, something I’ve wanted to do for years! Matt has a stellar new solo album out, providing the perfect “excuse” to get him into the studio with me.

It’s always a pleasure (and a hoot) to chat with Matt (he has the best anecdotes and general commentary) — and the new album, “On The Edge, At The Bottom” (House of Mercy Recordings) — is a pleasure from start to finish. Featuring a fantastic roster of guest musicians along with Matt’s signature vocals and compelling lyrics, Matt is keeping the American Gospel and classic country musical traditions alive and well with this must-have new release.

We listened to:

Stop By Here (featuring Miss Becky Kapell on additional vocals and Randy Broughten on pedal steel)
Brighter Tomorrow (featuring Angie Talle on additional vocals and Alyssa Jacobsen on fiddle)
On The Edge, At The Bottom (again featuring Miss Becky Kapell and Randy Broughten)

Matt will celebrate the release of “On The Edge, At The Bottom” with performances this Thursday, Jan. 18 at The Hook & Ladder Theater & Lounge in Minneapolis and Saturday, Jan. 20 at Imminent Brewing here in Northfield.
