Darkness in Paradise

On today’s 15 with the Author, Teri Knight talks with a woman whose passion is legacy writing.  Gloria VanDemmeltraadt has written more than a hundred life stories for hospice patients and others for their personal use.  But today, it’s personal. She wanted to capture her husband’s story for his children and found it was really worthy of a novel. Onno VanDemmeltraadt was born in the Dutch East Indies and was six years old when the Japanese occupation of World War II began. In her novel,  “Darkness in Paradise”, Gloria tells Onno’s story from the unique view of a young boy in the midst of darkness in his paradise. She shares stories including Onnon’s recollections of the Bird of Death and Black Magic.  Gloria’s website
