UPDATE 12:11pm 12-12-18: Cancel University of Minnesota Police Department missing person Sylvester Sanders alert. Sanders returned to the hospital and is safe. Thank you to all who helped look for him.
The University of Minnesota Police Department is asking for assistance in locating Sylvester Sanders, 49, of Maplewood. Sylvester was last seen at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital, where he has been under care for the last two weeks. He left the hospital earlier today without clearance and still needs medical care. He has no cell phone or wallet with and authorities are concerned for his welfare. Sylvester walks with an unsteady gate and can get confused. He was last seen wearing a black zip hooded sweatshirt and gray pants. Sylvester is described as 5’09, 192 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to use the transit system.
