In advance of his not-to-be-missed appearance this Thursday, Jan. 24 at the beautiful Newhall Auditorium at Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, I had the very good fortune to feature jeremy messersmith live in-studio this afternoon. What a voice! What sweet music! What a clever and insightful and genuinely delightful chap!
We chatted a bit about the Minnesota music scene (including our reputation as a great state for nurturing and supporting the arts), his approach to music-making, his appreciation for the ukulele (the happiest of instruments!), his passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation of artists — such a great conversation! I still have so many things I’d love to talk about. Next time, right?!?
jeremy also performed three songs, accompanied by guitar on the first and the uke on the rest:
Monday, You’re Not So Bad (from “Late Stage Capitalism”)
We All Do Better When We All Do Better (from “11 Obscenely Optimistic Songs for Ukulele”)
Everybody Gets A Kitten (from “11 Obscenely Optimistic Songs for Ukulele”)
