All-Wheel Drive w/ Louis and Dan & the Invisible Band 2/22/19

Man, oh man — Louis and Dan are a ton-o-fun!

Great time this afternoon celebrating the release of the debut album from Louis and Dan & the Invisible Band.

Louis (Epstein) is a music professor at St. Olaf College and Dan(iel Groll) is a philosophy professor at Carleton. (Dan also fronts the prof-rockin’ Northfield band, The Counterfactuals).

The two joined forces and formed this delightfully clever band, with a goal of making music that both kids and their parents can enjoy alike. And as promised, my toes were a-tappin’ and I was singing along (in my head, of course!) in no time.

We chatted about the inspiration behind the band and their song-writing process. We also talked about why it’s important to create music that’s not only fun but smart — and shares important messages for everyone. Of all ages.

And, accompanied by the “invisible band” on guitar and clarinet and melodica (!), Louis and Dan performed:

Underwear Spaghetti
What Do Princesses Do?
Website Jingle

Don’t miss their CD release celebration tomorrow afternoon (Feb. 23 beginning at 2 p.m.) at Imminent Brewing here in Northfield — and performing March 9 at Glam Doll Donuts in Minneapolis. Louis and Dan & the Invisible Band will also perform as part of the Northfield Public Library’s Books & Stars series on July 3. And buy the CD — ‘cuz it’s really fantastic and a whole lotta fun.
