All-Wheel Drive with Peter M (of We Are The Willows), 6/13/19

Today I was joined by Peter M  (of We Are The Willows) — one of the most unique and beautiful voices in Minnesota music —  who is in the midst of recording and releasing a new side solo project. Area audiences are most likely familiar with Peter given his numerous songwriting & performance workshops and collaborations in the community, most recently with FiftyNorth and Acadia Charter School.

As expected (given the caliber of WATW’s amazing body of work), today’s performance and conversation were nothing short of sheer delight!

We talked a bit about the inspiration behind this new project — and Peter’s concept for its recording and release. “Songs 1” (featuring ‘Lover’ and ‘Do You Recognize Your Face In The Mirror’) were recently released — and the next “batch” of songs (Song 2!), comes out June 28. No surprise that, given Peter’s work with his acclaimed indie orchestral pop rock band, he also has a 10-minute multi-instrument opera in the works. I can’t wait!

Peter speaks so eloquently about this songwriting inspiration and process (and I go on and on about how much I love him — and his work — and what a perfect balm his music is in these troubling times).

Peter performed:

A Satisfied Mind
Up Here In The Air
Do You Recognize Your Face In The Mirror
