All-Wheel Drive with Ben Lubeck, 9/20/19

It’s always a treat to feature a live performer on the show, especially when it’s someone as delightful and talented as Ben Lubeck! So great to welcome him back to All-Wheel Drive.

Perhaps best known to listeners as the frontman of one of my favorite bands, Farewell Milwaukee, Ben also has a solo career and has just released his second album, For You Again, a beautiful tribute to his family and to his craft. Ben is celebrating the release of the album with a not-to-be-missed full band performance on Saturday, Sept. 28 at The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis (tickets available here). There will be an opening set by Ben Kyle of Romantica, along with some other special surprises!

We are so fortunate to have this in-demand artist come down this afternoon. Ben and I chatted a bit about his musical process, his commitment to making family a priority while pursuing a sustainable career in the music “biz,” and his keen eye and appreciation for retro 70s-era county music and fashion. (Not to mention the fact that Ben sports the best darn head of hair of any musician I know — which I later learned he cuts/styles himself! Is there anything this guy can’t do?!?)

All kidding aside, I am a huge fan and it is an honor to feature Ben Lubeck and his music on 95.1.

Ben performed three tracks from For You Again:

For You Again
Younger Men
Lines We Mend
