Courtney Yasmineh, 2/6/2020

It is always a treat to feature singer/songwriter (and artist and author and all-around amazing woman) Courtney Yasmineh on All-Wheel Drive. Especially so, on the heels of the release of her latest album, Songs From The Open Road, which I included on my year-end “Best of 2019” edition. It’s such a great album and I really enjoyed talking to Courtney about the inspiration for its creation and the challenges she faced getting the record made. I’m also really thrilled to hear how well the album has been received, because it really is a must-have and I sincerely hope that this is the album (her seventh release!) that finally makes her a national name. Because she really deserves it.

We talked quite a bit (she’s just so darn funny and interesting) and she also performed three songs, including a very timely Bob Dylan cover and an original inspired by Bob Dylan — both from the new album, plus another signature original from her eclectic body of musical work.

The Times They Are A-Changin’ (from Songs From The Open Road)
Gone Away (Married to Bob Dylan) (from Songs From The Open Road)
Remedy (from High Priestess and The Renegade)

You can catch Courtney performing live locally on Feb. 20 at The Parkway Theater in south Minneapolis and back here in Northfield on Feb. 28 at Reunion Stage.
