NPD Press Release on thefts from local businesses UPDATED

September 25th UPDATE: With assistance from other law enforcement agencies, the Northfield Police Department was able to identify the suspect in this case as 49-year old Cory Jay Rosillo of Forest Lake, MN. Rosillo was located in custody at the Anoka County Jail on related charges from other jurisdictions. Rosillo was cited for two counts of misdemeanor theft by the Northfield Police Department and will appear in Rice County
court at a later date. Thefts Update – 09.25.20

On September 4, 2020, at 6:34 p.m., an unknown male entered a business in Northfield and stole money out of a tip jar and left in a vehicle with a female driver. The vehicle they left in appeared to be a silver or tan older Toyota Corolla with an unknown Minnesota license plate. On this same date at about 6:50 p.m., this same male entered another business in Northfield and stole cash out of the register. There were no weapons implied nor seen by witnesses, this was a theft only, not a robbery.  

Employees at the businesses described the male suspect as being 35 to 50 years old, 5’09” to 6’3”, slim to thin build, balding on top of his head with greyish/black short hair on the sides. He was wearing a greyish/blue t-shirt with an American flag on the front, blue athletic shorts, tan shoes with white socks.
