Drum roll, please!
After 14+ months of pandemic restrictions, today I was once again able to feature a LIVE IN-STUDIO guest for conversation and performance on All-Wheel Drive. What a thrill! And better yet, it was none other than one of my very favorite Minnesota musicians* (and all-around fabulous humans), Courtney Yasmineh!
We chatted a bit (okay, a lot, because she is so interesting & fun to talk to) and also heard THREE BRAND NEW SONGS (making their radio premiere on AWD, y’all!) from her forthcoming new album, “Red Roses and Cowgirl Dreams,” being released later this summer.
Courtney shared the inspiration behind the new album and her seemingly endless pool of creativity (*she’s also a talented and accomplished author — and has a keen sense for interior design) — and we also talked about her participation in next week’s Bob Dylan Birthday Bash at First Avenue, part of a stellar line-up of MN musicians paying homage to the legendary musical bard on his 80th trek around the sun.
Courtney performed acoustic versions of three new original tunes:
Red Roses and Cowgirl Dreams
Right Here By Your Side
The Creek
And, we closed out the segment with her version of The Times They Are A-Changin’, off Courtney’s beautiful 2019 album release, “Songs From The Open Road.” Written & released by Dylan in 1964, the song’s relevance feels even more significant today.
