The Rice County United Way is set to host a new fundraising event: Pickle Paddle, a pickleball tournament. Registration for the event closes today.
United Way Director Laura Riehle-Merrill stated that the fundraiser is to support the work of health-based non-profits in the community:
“First of all, all proceeds raised will stay in Rice County. This event is a fundraiser for the health-focused United Way partner agencies, which include Health Finders. Three Rivers Community Action, Healthy Community initiative, and aging services for communities.” – Laura Riehle-Merril, Executive Director of Rice County United Way

She noted that the organizations are critical and support many different groups in the community:

These partner agencies support our most vulnerable neighbors by providing direct mental and physical healthcare, prevention education in home care for older adults, and transportation to medical appointments.” – Laura Riehle-Merril, Executive Director of Rice County United Way

The Pickle Paddle will take place on Saturday, July 12, beginning at 7:30 am at Riverside Park Pickleball Courts and the Northfield Middle School Tennis Courts. You can register to play, sponsor a player, volunteer, or buy a ticket to our raffle at onecau.se/picklepaddle.
The pickle paddle raffle is now open and features a variety of items, including overnight packages, a gift card to rare pair in Northfield, and even a beautiful throw blanket from Faribault Woolen Mill. The fundraiser is also supported by Allina Health, Carleton College, and Merchants Bank.
