The Dundas City Council meets this evening for a regular meeting. On the agenda is the approval of the 2026 Health and Dental Insurance plans and the city’s contributions. Additionally, the council is being asked to approve the hiring of a full-time police officer.
In the City Engineers report, several of the city’s 2025 projects are nearing their end and wrapping up, including the work on the Dundas Boulevard watermain improvements and Road Reclamite Projects. Additionally, work on the Mill Towns State Trail south of Dundas has also been completed, with the paved trail now running from Mill Park south of town for approximately a mile.
One project that the city is still working on is at County Road 1 and Highway 3. The project includes work on storm sewers, as well as expanding the city’s sidewalk network. Now there will be sidewalks and pedestrian crossings at the stoplight. City Administrator Jenelle Teppen stated that with state funding, they were able to help provide a safe way for pedestrians to cross Highway 3:
Listen to the News:
“With the help of our local legislators, we received a grant from the state for $362,000 to complete the trunk, Hwy. 3 County Road 1 pedestrian crossing. So there’s a light at Hwy. 3 and County Road 1, so that we will be installing pedestrian crossings. You know, the whole flashing light across that right now, there’s not a Safeway to get across Hwy. 3 in Dundas, really.” – City Administrator Jenelle Teppen on the KYMN Morning Show
The Council Meeting is tonight at 7pm in the Council Chamber of City Hall.
