Northfield residents and visitors alike are gearing up for a popular summer tradition as the 2026 Northfield Rotary Taste of Summer Fest returns on Thursday, July 9, from 5 to 8pm at the Red Barn Farm. Now in its eighth year, the event continues to draw crowds with its blend of local flavors, live music, and community spirit.
Brent Nystrom and Hezekiah Ben-Shirnai of the Northfield Rotary Club said the event has grown steadily over the years, highlighting regional craft beverages and fostering connections between local vendors and attendees. Guests can sample offerings from a wide range of breweries, wineries, cider makers, and distilleries, alongside non-alcoholic drinks such as kombucha and soft beverages.
“This is really about bringing people together,” Nystrom said during a recent interview. “You can wander from table to table, meet the people behind these local businesses, and enjoy what they create.”
The festival will also feature pizza available for purchase from Red Barn Farm, as well as live music by Northfield native and Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Sam Ryden. Known for blending genres like folk, Americana, blues, and pop, Ryden is expected to provide a lively soundtrack for the evening.
Beyond the food and entertainment, the event serves as a key fundraiser for the Rotary Club. Proceeds from ticket sales, raffles, and silent auctions support Rotary initiatives both locally and globally, including clean water projects, medical aid, and youth exchange programs.
Advance tickets are $35, with prices increasing to $40 at the door. Organizers encourage early registration to help plan for attendance and maximize fundraising efforts.
With a scenic venue, a wide variety of vendors, and a strong charitable mission, the Taste of Summer Fest promises to be a highlight of the Northfield summer calendar once again.
