Playlist:

All the way from Joshua Tree, CA and in advance of their MN State Fair appearances this weekend, I was thrilled to be able to welcome back to the KYMN studios none other than Mark Olson (of The Jayhawks and The Original Harmony Ridge Creekdippers) and his wife, Ingunn Ringvold, an incredibly talented singer and musician in her own right. And they brought their drummer along, Danny Frankel (his first time in Northfield!). Such a treat to feature these three amazing musicians. In typical fashion, I talked too much but their music says it all. (And alas, just after beginning their third song — which Mark just penned and debuted on air as it’s inspired by the nearby Big Woods forest, the station computer took control and started broadcasting a MN Twins pre-game show. Aaargh. My apologies! Fortunately we were able to come back and re-record “The Nerstrand Woods.”)

Mark & Ingunn & Danny performed:

Black-Eyed Susan
Rosalie
The Nerstrand Woods
