Last Thursday at approximately 7:35 a.m., there was a minor car accident involving a school bus and a car at the intersection of College Street and 8th Street. First responders were on the scene of the accident in approximately 5 minutes. Firefighters on the scene quickly determined that the accident was minor and that there was no further danger. There were 36 students plus the driver on the bus at the time of the accident; no students were injured in the accident. All of the students were transported to school by another bus and parents. First responders were on the scene for approximately 25 minutes.
The police department is investigating the crash, and the state patrol will complete the bus inspection.
Northfield Police Department, Northfield Area Fire and Rescue Services, and Northfield Emergency Medical Services all responded to the call.
