The Board of Directors of the Community Action Center announced last week that Anika Rychner had been appointed to the role of Interim Executive Director. “Our organization has been fortunate to benefit from strong and steady leadership, and Anika has been a vital part of that team… Her proven leadership at CAC, deep commitment to our mission and core values.” Rychner has been the Senior Director at the CAC for the last 8 years and has 25+ years of experience in both direct service and nonprofit leadership, making her a natural and trusted fit for this role.

In a statement on the CAC’s website, Rychner said:

“Stepping into this position is both an honor and a responsibility that I approach with humility and deep gratitude. I care tremendously about this organization, our mission, and the people we walk alongside every day. I am committed to supporting our team and community through this transition with steadiness, clarity, and respect for the incredible work of our CAC staff and volunteers.”

In the interim the Board of Directors will work to select a permanent leader of the organization. Outgoing Executive Director Scott Wopata said on KYMN earlier in November that now was a time for the community to help support the CAC:

“And I just hope the community recognizes in the transition that A, CAC is going to need support. This is a moment to really kind of think about how we help CAC transition to new leadership. It’s also a really exciting time.  CAC’s done some really ambitious things over the last seven years. It’s grown exponentially.” – Scott Wopata, Executive Director of the CAC on KYMN In The Moring

Wopata is moving to City Hall and will be working as the new Northfield Community Development Director. The transition is set for the end of December.
