Northfield Public Library will add a new Bookmobile stop in Dundas

By Rich Larson

The Northfield Public Library is expanding its reach with a new bookmobile stop in Dundas, marked by a community celebration this coming Friday, May 22. The event, Books & Baked Goods, will take place from 10 a.m. to noon outside Martha’s Eats & Treats on Railway Street.

The new stop launches a regular monthly visit aimed at improving access to library services for Dundas residents. Visitors can browse materials, sign up for library cards, and learn about future stops.

The partnership holds special meaning for café owner Martha Schuetzle, who said the idea brought back fond childhood memories of her local bookmobile. Library assistant Steve Maus called the collaboration “a perfect match.”

The family-friendly event includes activities throughout the morning and a storytime at 10:30 a.m. Schuetzle will also offer free mini scones to attendees, welcoming the bookmobile with a warm, community-focused touch.
