Northfielders will have an opportunity to help shape the future of Sibley Swale Park at a neighborhood open house scheduled for Thursday, June 25.
The event will be held at the park, located at 1380 Prairie Street, with activities centered near the playground. Residents are encouraged to stop by at any time during the open house to review early design concepts and share feedback with city staff and members of a neighborhood work group.
Improvements to the park are included in Northfield’s Capital Improvement Plan, with construction tentatively planned for 2027. In advance of that work, a group of nearby residents has been collaborating with city staff to develop ideas for upgrades and draft plans for the space.
City officials say the open house will provide one of the first major opportunities for broader public input. Attendees can learn about existing park conditions, ask questions, express concerns, and offer suggestions that could influence the final design.
Feedback gathered during the event will be used to refine plans and will be presented to the City Council as part of the decision-making process.
Additional details about the project are available on the city’s website.
